HERO=ZERO Protection for Women’s and Girl’s Rights

houston campaignOutgoing Houston Mayor Annise Parker is obsessed with bathrooms. Public bathrooms. More accurately, penalizing women and children who protest against men using women’s bathrooms, locker rooms, and showers. Women and girls who complain that their right to privacy and protection is being violated could be charged with a class c misdemeanor under a city ordinance, HERO, which will be on the November 3, 2015 ballot for Houstonians to veto/support.

At issue is not equality, which already exists under Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, but the reality that women and children have less legal equality and less legal protections under HERO than a transgender or cross-gender or heterosexual man.

At issue is a lesbian seeking to minimize and destroy a heterosexual woman and girl’s right to privacy and protection from harm.

No equality exists under HERO for women and girls, so why is a woman advocating for it?
